Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)<\/strong> – is protocol created by Microsoft, which provides a graphical interface for a user. RDP client is available in most operating systems. By default RDP uses 3389 TCP port. Remote Desktop Connection<\/a> is the official program meant for login via RDP. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Windows VPS server with Windows 2012 or 2016 R2 OS<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Login via Windows computer:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Open up your “Remote Desktop Connection” program and select “Show Options”.
2. Enter your login credentials and press “Connect”:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Computer:<\/em> Your_server_IP
Username:<\/em> Administrator<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Enter your server’s password and press “OK”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Login via Linux OS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you do not have rdesktop<\/em> installed, install it with the command bellow. for Ubuntu\/Debian<\/em> use:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

apt-get update<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
apt-get install rdesktop<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
For CentOS\/Fedora<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
yum update<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
yum install rdesktop<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Then you can login to your Windows 2008 or 2012 R2 server using this command in the terminal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
rdesktop -u Administrator -p PASSWORD -g 1280x720 YOUR_SERVER_IP<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
If you have done everything correctly, Windows Server window should open up:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
